This Christmas we decided to bake some gingerbread men and gift them to all 22 kids at a Christmas party we were invited to.
I did the baking, the kids did the decorating. It was fun for all involved … at least, until the lady who did the baking realized she had to clean up all the sprinkles and sticky mess too 🙁 … that wasn’t much fun at all!
Once the sweets were set, we bagged them and attached labels.
Of course, I had to make my own labels as I wanted them to be personalized. The name of each child on one side and a “Merry Christmas” greeting on the other (and I’ll confess, I didn’t want a sneaky adult “accidentally” taking one, and then having a disappointed child in tears – hence why it was critical to have them named :p)
They were a success. All the children loved them. And if they weren’t quite happy with the way their little man was decorated, they traded (who knew such a simple gesture would bring out the little business men and women in them!)
We used gingerbread men, but I would love for you to share what you filled your bags with.
These could also be used to create gifts for teachers, or students, or grandparents… or neighbors. For anyone, really :p
